Barry Larkin was voted into the Hall of Fame today. He spent his entire career with the Reds, something that won’t happen in baseball these days. Larkin hit .295 with a .371 on-base percentage and a .444 slugging percentage for his career. He made 12 all-star teams, won 9 silver slugger awards, helped lead the Reds to the promise land in 1990, and he even won the NL MVP in 1995. Larkin was a little before my time, but from the stories i have heard, it is clear that this guy was the ultimate team player. I heard an interview today from someone who worked in the Reds front office when Larkin played who marveled at the fact that Larkin took less money in order to stay with the Reds. That kind of loyalty is not something you see in professional sports today. Larkin will be inducted on July 22.

Loyalty gets my vote any day. Congrats, Barry Larkin.

Please, dear lord baby Jesus.

To go to Wrigley Stadium for the first time, with Lizz, with the Cubs either in the playoffs and/or World Series.
Maybe the year after the Rays win the World Series!
